“As you may or may not know, I just had my second baby. Now comes the daunting task of losing all the pregnancy weight I gained. Like last time, I gained 50 lbs throughout the course of this pregnancy.
Unlike my first pregnancy, this time I ate really healthy. But it seemed like no matter what I did I was destined to gain the exact same amount of weight, pound for pound, with baby #2. Each month was mental torture as I watched my body put back on all the weight I had worked so hard to take off the first time.
I hate looking in the mirror and not recognizing myself. Surrendering my body to this miraculous experience has always been the hardest part for me and this time was no different.
Pregnancy has left me with a body I’m not content with (to put it nicely) and so I am ready to begin the long journey to reclaim my body and bring it back to the way I once knew it. Having already done this once, I’m confident that I can do it again.
Last time I enlisted the help of my husband and Your Shape Fitness Evolved and I was back to my fighting weight in about 6 months. This time I am going to play Just Dance 4 to burn calories and shed the extra weight.”
HERE IS THE PLAN:
Starting weight: 170 lbs
Goal weight: 130 lbs
Exercise: Just Dance 4 (Just Sweat Mode)
Schedule: I am going to start with 1 hour of game play 4x a week.
Diet: Beyond Diet (high protein low carb diet)

Avry & Kaden : Just Sweat Dream Team Update

“Is summer really over? Where did August go? Such a fun active summer we had and now that we are back into routine I am proud to say I’ve dropped some pounds! I can’t wait to reveal it all at the end! Kaden on the other hand has gained some but I do believe it is because he took on lifting weights 3 days a week now! I keep telling him he is gaining muscle but he is trying hard not to get frustrated with it. We have been meeting our goals on the water intake which has made both of us feel a lot better! Sometimes I will add some lemon to my water and lots of ice!

Some days it is hard not to get discouraged but I think that is par for anyone who is trying to lose weight. I find myself doing good some days and other days not so good on the food part. I have always loved to exercise because I feel better after I do but I wish I had more self control with food! In talking with Kaden he is a lot like I am in that areas- he loves food to.

Now that the nights are getting cooler and the sun is going down sooner we are spending less time outside in the evenings and more time indoors. It will only get worse as we get into winter so instead of sitting on our butts in front of the t.v. we have decided to do Just Dance Family nights!!! WOOT WOOT! As a mom I am glad the kids have something to keep them off the couch this winter!

If there is one thing that I am learning is that the weight didn’t come on over night and it isn’t going to come off over night. Staying positive and believing in one another has been one of the only things that has kept me going in this journey. But I have no complaints as I know I am on the right path to becoming a more healthy me!”

Sharon: Just Sweat Dream Team Update!

“For four months now, our family has been participating in the Just Dance Just Sweat Dream Team Challenge. And while other members taking this challenge have been focused on weight loss, the goal for our family has been to keep us active by enjoying an activity that we can all do together. We’ve taken our Wii and Just Dance games on vacation with us this summer, and I would say that most of us have improved our moves along the way!

But now that the kids are back in school, we are using Just Dance to replace our usual family game night. And what I love is that Steve and I are right in there with the kids, as opposed to sitting on the sidelines watching as we do all weekend long at soccer and football games! I hope that this video inspires you to try Just Dance with your family!”

Amy: Just Sweat Dream Team Update!

Amy has reached a huge milestone in her weight loss journey, falling into the normal weight and BMI range, and is now within only 12 pounds of reaching her weight loss goal! She has lost an incredible 42 pounds over the last three months. If you want to join Amy on the last leg of the Just Sweat program, you can join her on her live stream workouts here: Valkyrie Twitch TV

Amy’s Update:

“The biggest milestone I have had this month is I am now in the normal weight and BMI range. That’s right, I am now not considered overweight and that is a huge thing for me. I still feel great, have tons of energy, and continue to have a positive outlook due to my success and the changes my body and mind have gone through over the last three months. While I am starting to get hungry which is has been abnormal on my diet, I am not sure if this is because I am eating more food now or my body is telling me it’s time to transition. No matter what the case, the end is right around the corner as this message I got when I plugged in my numbers told me:

I continue to lose weight at a slower pace with only -8 lbs. down since my last update. This is due to being so close to my goal weight and the fact that I am now eating more food options. I am in no way discouraged as we were prepped that this would happen close to our goal (Thank you Kaiser!).  Here is my progress chart for you to review this month so you can see my stats yourself. Please note, I am still traveling and working so I had to take these pics myself in my hotel room so I am sorry that are not in my normal set up.”

Nessa: Just Sweat Dream Team Update!

Nessa has been rocking The Just Dance Speed Shuffle over September and has managed to lose 4-5 pounds over the course of the month. It’s apparent that Nessa is making a long-term lifestyle change, starting to order a fruit and veg CSA box, and taking up hiking. Good luck on your last month of the Just Sweat Challenge Nessa!

Nessa’s Update:

It’s been much easier this month.  Things have settled down and I’ve been busy creating new websites, going on vacation and most importantly, doing my Just Dance!

These days I do Speed Shuffle on Just Dance 3 most of the time. There have been some pretty late night sessions (I count it as the same day as long as I do it before I go to bed, since I’m quite the night owl and keep weird hours sometimes) but I still have done it 5x a week for 30 minutes at least.  It’s a great habit to have.

I’m back on track for losing weight. I’ve been steadily losing weight over the past few weeks. I did gain 3 pounds according to the scale this week (pffft), but I really don’t think I truly gained. I had just been on a vacation where yes, I did eat extra at some moments, but I am positive I didn’t eat that many extra calories on top of  my daily requirements. We were also doing a lot of hiking during this time, so I was burning off a lot of those extra calories.  I’ll just have to wait and see, but I think it was just one of those flukes and it will be off the scale next week.

I’m now able to do a lot more fitness-wise.  We just did a brutal hike up the side of a mountain to go see some caves.  While I still did struggle (asthma and all), I made it up.  I also was able to hike around Arches National Park.

My clothes are getting looser too.  I put things on and notice that I get to cinch them in more or they look funny. I switched shirts the other day because I noticed that it just looked too big :)

I’ve lost less weight than I thought I would by this point. You know what, though? It’s ok.  Life is funny that way…never seems to go how you’ve planned.  I’ve had some obstacles pop up and I’ve survived and pushed onward. I never truly gave up and I will lose this weight!”

Nessa’s Current Weight: 245.8

Michele and Sami: Just Sweat Dream Team Update!
Michele and Sami have made some huge changes to their fitness routines! Michele traveled quite a bit last month and despite being tempted by tasty treats on her trips away, she managed to lose 4 pounds!
Michele’s Update:
“This past month was a bit tougher because we were out-of-town a lot with dance competitions, BlogHer and a few other short trips. I continued to run while away and my daughter was dancing, but it was the food that tripped us up some.
Our progress is slow, but steady in the right direction. I have always been a firm believer that slow steady changes are more likely to become a part of your life than the fast quick results we sometimes yearn for.
I have noticed that running longer is easier which was my ultimate desire and goal for adding the Just Dance to my exercise routine. Sami has received a few compliments lately too (telling her she looks like she has lost weight.)”

Katie H: Just Sweat Dream Team Update!

Katie is over halfway through the Just Dance Just Sweat Challenge and is now six months post-partum and also down two pounds this month! Awesome job Katie!

Katie’s Update:

“Weight: Down two pounds this month! Improvement? YES!

Running: My longest distance has been 6.57 miles and my fastest miles have been at 10:11 (for a 3.25 mile run). My times for the longer distances need to improve, but hopefully this cooler weather will help. I also ran my first postpartum race; it was a 10k. Improvement? YES!

Planks: On my last plank night I did 20 seconds x 4 with 10 second rest in between. While this isn’t as many plank intervals as previous months, my duration has increased to 20 seconds per interval instead of 10 seconds. Improvement? YES!

Pushups: I did 24 knee pushups in one minute on my last pushup night. While this isn’t an improvement in terms of reps, I am improving in my form. John has been watching me (aka cheering me on) while I do the pushups, so he reminds me when I’m losing form. Improvement? Yes on form, no on reps. But I think form is more important.”

Brent and Amy: Just Sweat Dream Team Update!

This month has been all about Brent and Amy trying to stay motivated! Although Amy has lost two more pounds this month, she has been struggling to come to terms with the pace of her progress.

Amy’s Update:

“We’re living in a society of instant gratification — fast food, high speed internet, cell phones — we want everything RIGHT NOW.  I feel like I should weigh less every single time I step on the scale.  That hasn’t been the case, obviously, but I’m pleased that the weight I have lost is staying off.  I don’t really have as much fluctuation in my weight as I used to, AND I’m not gaining for the first time in the past few years.  That’s something …

We’ve really had to learn to measure success by a different standard and be happy with that.  For me, and maybe for lots of people, entering into a new pattern of healthy eating {I hate the word diet} or working out is done for the sole purpose of losing weight.  I fixate on that number on the scale and lower numbers = success.  I’ve found through this Just Dance Just Sweat Dream Team process that when I focus ONLY on my weight, I tend to miss the other really great things that are happening as a result.  I have so much more energy all day long and I am sleeping like a baby at night.  It’s been years since I’ve consistently gotten a good night’s sleep.  That’s something … We can both work out longer and more intensely than we could two months ago.  That’s something … I don’t crave fast food, like at all.  We’ve done drive-thru dinners a couple of times, but it’s been because we were super busy those days, not because I just really wanted it. That’s also something … My jeans are too big for me now.  That’s a BIG something.

So, there has been progress and success.  We love using Just Dance as a part of our fitness routine.  Dancing is so much more fun than running for me so I look forward to doing it.”
